Coding, robotic arms, programmed tanks, and more! It’s Computer Science Week and today a group of GC Tech Center students helped Wilkey 5th graders to hand-on demonstrations of some of the amazing things that can be created and done with these technologies. They teamed up with several K12 Apprentice Track students who jumped in to hone their future teaching skills throughout the classrooms.
The Bulldogs got to test drive metal Vex robotics built by the Tech Center students, Dobot Magician robotic arms, Robomaster tanks that can be controlled remotely or by physical movement. They got to learn a bit about the coding behind much of the tech, as well as hear about the many opportunities in Career and Technical Education (CTE) that will be in store for them in just a few years.
This is the second year of Computer Science Week activities which will continue at Caneyville later in the week.
