Gifted and Talented Education was in the spotlight during the August Leitchfield Woman’s Club meeting. GCS G/T teacher Terri Haycraft introduced the group to the many opportunities available through the program, which serves students in grades 4 - 12. The Primary Talent Pool also provides services for students K – 3 who demonstrate the potential for giftedness.
In addition, Haycraft discussed the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship available to all graduating seniors, with members given examples of all of the certificate and degree programs available through ECTC. The scholarship is available to provide free tuition in five high demand careers fields: health care, advanced manufacturing, transportation/logistics, business/IT, and construction/trades.
