GCHS HOSA came away from State Leadership Conference with a strong finish and scholarships in hand. The conference was held. March 20-22 in Louisville.
With 11 students in attendance, Isabella Stevenson took 2nd place in the Respiratory Therapy event.
Kinley Cook was awarded the Anne Vescio Scholarship for students who plan to pursue a degree in healthcare. Vescio was foundational in the early years of Kentucky HOSA, established the 4-year nursing degree at EKU, and played a vital role in expanding healthcare education in Kentucky.
Presley Jackson was awarded the Bailey Holt Memorial Scholarship. Holt, who aspired to become a labor and delivery nurse, was tragically killed during the 2018 Marshall County High School shooting This scholarship was established by KY HOSA to honor her memory and encourage KY HOSA members to pursue a career as a healthcare provider.
