Isaac Lindsey was selected as Regional Star in Placement and will compete against other regional winners at state this June.


Lainie Anderson won 1st Place in Composition at the KAAC State Governors Cup competition on March 20 in Louisville. Governor Beshear presented her with the first place trophy.


Class of 2023 Graduation will be Friday, May 26 @ 7 pm on the Cougar Football Field. In the event of rain, graduation will be in the Cougar Gym.

A big weekend for GCHS HOSA at State! Congrats to Addisen Higdon, 3rd Place, Persuasive Writing & Speaking, Piper Spears, Top 5, Nursing Assisting, and Isabella Stevenson, Top 5, Medical Assisting.




With three makeup days for weather (Jan. 31, Feb. 1, and Mar. 3), the revised last day for K-12 students will be Thursday, May 25. Last day for preschool will be May 18.


GCHS will be having our Annual Spring Talent Show on Friday, March 31 during 4th and 5th Periods. Any student wishing to participate in the talent show, application forms can be picked up, outside of Mrs. Harned’s Office. All applications must be turned in by Tuesday, March 28 @ 3 pm to participate.
GCHS students can attend this event by purchasing a ticket for $2. Ticket sales will take place on Monday, March 27 during 3rd Period. All proceeds assist with senior activities.

CLASS of 2023 is accepting pictures for the Senior Slideshow. Each graduating senior (including those who finished early), can submit a total of 5 pics. They can be individual and/or group photos; however, they must be school appropriate: pictures not appropriate will not be included. Baby pics are acceptable. Pics are to be sent to graysoncountyclassof2023@gmail.com. The last day to submit photos to this email is Fri, April 21 @ 3 pm. No cost to submit pics. Video will be available on YouTube after Senior Sunset....date TBA.

GCHS Jr/Sr Prom will be held Sat, May 13 on the Square from 8-11 pm.
Tickets will be $25 a piece and go on sale May 8-12 during 3rd Period.
Underclassmen must have less than 12 unexcused absences to be a guest. Forms for guests who aren't a GCHS Student, available April 18.

SkillsUSA competitions from this week resulted in eight GCHS students registering for state competitions. These students include:

Other students competed at the SkillsUSA competition, but did not register for state.

Another terrific @gchs_Cougars Senior Social is in the books, thanks to our partners at the Grayson County Detention Center. We truly appreciate their hospitality and care for our seniors each spring as these soon-to-be-grads look toward the future.





GCHS 11th-grade students-Good luck on the ACT. Be at school by 7:45 and bring a photo ID and charged school-issued Chromebook if possible.

Atten GCHS 11th Virtual Students: You must come to the high school to take the ACT on March 7th @ 7:45, or March 8th @ 7:45, or March 9th @ 7:45. Failure to take the ACT will result in being required to come to in-person classes.

Attention GCHS 10th Graders: Please check your school email for information regarding the March 7th field trip to WKU or ECTC.

Attention GCHS Juniors, please bring your charged school-issued Chromebook, charger, and photo ID on Tuesday, March 7th at 7:50 to take the ACT.

A $5K grant from TVA and WRECC will help the Tech Center grow in-demand workforce skills in computer programing and robotics, providing many avenues for exploration and skills development.
