The success of GCMS 8th Grade Transition Day has put the school and Curriculum Coordinator Tracie Johnston in the state spotlight. Johnston has been invited to speak at the Kentucky School Counselor Association (KSCA) Conference this fall in Lexington. The annual event gives 8th graders an inside track on future careers and reaching their goals through planning, preparation and focus in both coursework and activities. UPDATE/GCMS Sixth Sense! Registration will be held Monday - Tuesday, July 22 - 23 during normal school hours for those who have not already registered for this terrific introductory program for 6th graders. Sixth Sense dates are Weds. - Thurs., July 24 - 25, 8 am - 3 pm. Doors open at 7 am.

Congratulations to GCMS Beta Club members Hollie Hagan and Jake Pohlman! Both competed at Beta Nationals in Oklahoma City where Hollie placed 12th in the nation in the Language Arts competition and Jake placed 14th in the Handmade Jewelry competition!
